Double matcha latte with matcha foam

Ingredients (for 1 serving)

Matcha foam :

  • 40 ml of cold heavy cream
  • 20 ml of milk (your choice)
  • 1 tsp of syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • 3-4 g of matcha

Matcha latte :

  • 2 g of matcha
  • 60 ml of warm water (70-80 °C)
  • 100 ml of milk (your choice)

 

Steps :

1. Prepare the matcha foam

  • Sift the matcha into a small bowl to avoid lumps.
  • Add the cold heavy cream, milk, and syrup if desired.
  • Whisk using a milk frother or a hand whisk until you achieve a light and airy foam. Keep refrigerated.

 

2. Make the matcha latte

  • Sift the matcha into a bowl.
  • Add warm water and whisk vigorously with a chasen (bamboo whisk) or a milk frother until smooth and slightly frothy.
  • Heat or use cold milk, depending on your preference, and pour it into a glass. Then add the prepared matcha mixture.

3. Assemble your double matcha latte

  • Carefully spoon the matcha foam over the latte in the glass.
  • Optionally, sprinkle a small pinch of matcha powder on top for decoration.

 

Tips :

  • Enjoy this latte hot or iced, depending on your mood. Add ice cubes for a refreshing version.
  • Adjust the amount of syrup in the foam to suit your taste.
