Matcha Frankenstein cookies

Ingredients :
For the cookies :
- 150 g all-purpose flour
- 50 g almond flour
- 50 g powdered sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tsp culinary UMIKA matcha
- 80 g softened butter
- 1 tbsp cold water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
For the chocolate glaze :
- 100 g dark baking chocolate
- 1 tsp culinary UMIKA matcha
Instructions :
For the Frankenstein Cookies :
1. Cream the butter and wet ingredients
In a bowl, cream together the butter, egg yolk, water, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
2. Add the dry ingredients
Sift the flour, almond flour, matcha powder, and salt together, then gradually fold them into the butter mixture until smooth.
3. Chill the dough
Form the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 1 hour.
4. Shape the dough
On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 5 mm thickness. Cut into rectangles to shape Frankenstein’s heads.
5. Bake the cookies
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the rectangles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for around 12 minutes. Let them cool completely before decorating.
For the Glaze and Decoration :
1. Make the glaze
Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave, then add the matcha powder and mix well.
2. Draw the faces
Use the matcha chocolate glaze to draw hair, eyes, scars, and other Frankenstein features on each cookie.
3. Let the glaze set
Allow the glaze to set at room temperature before serving.
